Worker Safety Education Grant Awarded to Local Non-Profits
To support worker safety across the state, 20 non-profit organizations will receive part of a $620,000 grant.
The consultation education and training grant program is designed to enhance safety, health training and work practices resulting in fewer injuries, illnesses, and fatalities on the job.
The Michigan Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, known as MIOSHA, says these grants have a strong track record of increasing safety awareness in the workplace.
Some of the free trainings in our area are at the Aplena Community College, Baker College, and North Central Michigan College.
