Woman Accused of Embezzling from Former Employer Pleads Guilty
A woman accused of embezzling several thousands of dollars from her employer has made a plea.
47 year-old Carolyn Switala was charged with embezzlement, larceny by conversion, and using a computer to commit a crime.
According to court documents, Switala was an office manager at Maxbauer’s Meat Market in Traverse City.
While working there, the market’s owners claim she stole between 20 thousand and 50 thousand dollars.
In April, while speaking to detectives, Switala allegedly admitted to embezzling the money by falsifying gift certificates.
Now, Switala has pled guilty to the embezzlement charges in order to have the others dropped.
She will be sentenced on November 21st.
