Weight Restrictions To Be Lifted On All State Roads
On Thursday all the remaining weight restrictions on state roads in Michigan will be lifted.
The restrictions are put in place every spring while the ground unthaws to protect Michigan’s roads.
Over the last several weeks MDOT has been slowing lifting them across the state from the southern border up the U.P. as warmer temperatures arrive.
Now the last of the restrictions are being lifted.
However county and local agencies put their own seasonal restrictions in place, signs are generally posted to indicate which routes have the weight restrictions in place.
