Homeowners Facing Charges After Animals Seized from Home
UPDATE – The owners of a home that officials seized 27 dogs and cats from are now facing charges.
According to the MSP, dogs were found with what appeared to be caked and matted feces attached to their fur.
While at the owners’ home on Voice Road, Troopers were reportedly able to hear and see several more dogs and cats living in “deplorable” conditions.
That lead police to seize 17 dogs and 10 cats, with one dog being found dead at the home.
Now, the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor is charging Joseph and Lacie Plowman with animal abuse and neglect of 10 or more animals.
If convicted of the crime, the couple could face 4 years in prison.
The county health department is now working to condemn the home.
