This Weekend is the DNR’s “Three Free Weekend”
Grab a fishing rod, ride Michigan’s off-road trails or pay a visit to your favorite Michigan state park for free – all in the same weekend.
This weekend, June 9th and 10th, the DNR invites residents and out-of-state visitors to enjoy Free Fishing Weekend, Free ORV Weekend and free entry into state parks.
All fishing license, ORV license, trail permit and Recreation Passport fees are waived those two days, though all other regulations still apply.
Free fishing days are held twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter.
And during those weekends, the DNR waives the park entry fees, to help people find a good place to fish.
And the DNR hosts two free ORV weekends, this allows people to ride the DNR-designated trails without the ORV license or trail permit.
The second free ORV weekend is coming up in August.
