Tanker Truck Hits Power Pole Prompting Road Closures

A power pole and line are down after a tanker truck crash this morning in Grand Traverse County.
It happened this morning shortly before 7:30AM at the intersection of Keystone Road and Cass Road.
Deputies say the driver of the empty tanker truck, which is used for transporting corn syrup, hit the pole as they attempted to turn southbound on Keystone from Cass Rd.
The Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office says Keystone Road has been opened to through traffic in both directions. Cass Road between Broad Road and Keystone still remains closed as utility crews make repairs.
Deputies warn drivers to use alternate routes while utility crews repair the damaged power pole.
