Students Participate in Walkout, Protesting Gun Violence
Students across the country are walking out of their classrooms today – protesting gun violence.
And one school here in Michigan that was participating was the Cadillac Innovation High School.
Students who wanted to participate walked out into a courtyard and stood in silence for 17 minutes to honor the 17 victims who died in the Parkland Florida shooting.
Student organizers say the they have a right to learn in an environment free from worry of dying at the hands of someone with a gun.
And teachers have the right to teach in that environment.
Along with the walkouts, students encourage the use of the #NeverAgain, to remember those who lost their lives on February 14th, as well as their families.
