Person of the Week: Ron Meteyer
This week’s Person of the Week is a very hard working leader in our community.
Ron Meteyer is a Gaylord resident who is passionate about the community.
He’s currently involved with Kiwanis as president — the flags displayed around Gaylord are his Kiwanis project.
He has also served on the First Presbyterian Church of Gaylord Session and is involved daily in collecting food for the Gaylord Food Pantry as well as distributing it.
Ron also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Financial Credit Union and is involved in the Gerad Meteyer Foundation.
GERAD stands for Generating Educational Resources & Assistance for Diabetics, which is a family run, federally recognized charity that provides resources to send disadvantaged diabetic children to Camp M-I-D-I-C-H-A.
For his dedicated involvement in the community, Ron Meteyer receives this week’s title of Person of the Week.
If you know of someone who’s working hard in their own community, creating something new in the area, or just affecting northern Michigan in their own special way and you’d like to nominate them — send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tell us who you’d like to nominate for the person of the week, why you think they should receive that title, and how we can reach them — Each week, we’ll broadcast one of these nominees as the “Person of the Week.”
