Person Of The Week: Dr. Chris Lao
This week’s Person of the Week is a Doctor and Associate Professor at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Chis Lao practices medicine in Ann Arbor, but has helped make quite the impact locally.
Lao’s patients suffer from varying degrees of melanoma and one of his former patients’ families now hold a 5K to benefit research.
The ‘Paint the Town Black 5K’ raises money for melanoma research in memory of Kelly Van Houten, a man that tragically passed away after a battle with the disease.
Lao has attended all but one year of the event and continues to support the cause both on the track and in the laboratory.
So, for his dedication to finding a cure and supporting families, Chris Lao receives this week’s title of Person of the Week.
If you know of someone who’s working hard in their own community, creating something new in the area, or just affecting northern Michigan in their own special way and you’d like to nominate them — send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tell us who you’d like to nominate for the person of the week, why you think they should receive that title, and how we can reach them — Each week, we’ll broadcast one of these nominees as the “Person of the Week.”
