MSP Trooper Recognized for Life Saving Efforts

A Michigan State Police trooper has been recognized for his life saving efforts for the second time.
Trooper Rick Pearson of the Cadillac Post received a lifesaving award for his actions last June in Wexford County.
Pearson had stopped to assist a car parked on the shoulder of M-115 and found an unconscious man in the passenger seat.
The trooper recognized the signs of a potential opioid overdose and immediately rendered aid.
EMS later arrived and took the man to the hospital, where he survived.
This is the second “Lifesaving Award” given to Pearson.
His first was earned in 2003, when he rendered lifesaving first aid to a motorcyclist who had been involved in a serious crash.
Pearson is a 20 year veteran of the Michigan State Police, and has served the Cadillac area his entire career.
