Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Mason County Crash
A motorcyclist received serious head injuries when he was thrown from his bike in a crash.
That crash happened on US-10 east of Nelson Road in Mason County’s Pere Marquette Township Monday afternoon.
Around 2pm a car driven by a 77-year-old woman from Mears went to make a left hand turn into a driveway.
She turned into the path of a oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle crashed into the car and the rider, 65-year-old Pierre Marcoux of Ludington was thrown from the bike and onto the pavement.
He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital before being flown to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Police say neither alcohol, drugs, or speed appear to have been factors in the crash.
Marcoux was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The crash remains under investigation.
