Mother Charged in Benzie County Crash That Killed 4 Year-old Son
A mother is facing charges in connection to a crash that killed her young son last month.
22 year-old Isabella Bronson has been charged with operating while intoxicated, causing death; 2nd degree child abuse, and using meth.
According to the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office, the charges stem from the January 13th crash that killed her son, 4 year-old Reece Watkins.
That crash happened just before 5 o’clock that morning on M-115, north of Lindy Rd., in Weldon Township.
Deputies say Bronson was driving west when she lost control on a curve, crossed the center line, and hit several trees.
Bronson received minor injuries, but Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say that while she was wearing a seat belt, her son was not properly restrained.
Bronson’s bond was set at $50,000.
