Meijer Brand Potato Chips Recalled for Undeclared Allergen
We have another recall to share with you —
If you have a milk allergy you may want to check a bag of potato chips in your pantry.
That’s because a Meijer brand chip has the allergen in it, but it doesn’t say it on the label.
Shearer’s Foods, an Ohio based company, supplies Meijer with certain varieties of the store brand potato chips.
They’re recalling the 9.5 ounce packages of the Dill Pickle Flavor because they may contain undeclared milk.
The recall is being done because Meijer was notified of one customer who suffered an allergic reaction after eating the chips.
The packages have a sell by date between 07/16/18 and 08/13/18 on them and the UPC # 719283594365.
They were distributed to Meijer stores in six states, including Michigan.
The company says it was human error that lead to a product containing milk being distributed in packaging that didn’t say there was milk present.
Customers who purchased the recalled product from Meijer may return the product for a full refund.
