MDOT Announces New Transit Reduced Fare Card For Seniors
MDOT announces a new program that provides seniors and people with disabilities with a reduced fare on public transit providers throughout the state.
Currently, local transit agencies are required to offer reduced fares to people 65 or older, along with people with disabilities.
According to MDOT, up until now, it would’ve required an application to receive a reduced fare.
Now, in participating areas, eligible riders can receive the Universal Reduced Fare Card.
Several agencies in counties across our area have volunteered for this service, and MDOT says you should contact them to learn more.
