Man Out on Bond for One Rape Charge in Mecosta County Arrested on Second Felony Charge
A man already facing charges of rape has been accused of another felony.
The original rape charge comes from an incident that is said to have happened at the Tullymore Resort in Canadian Lakes in October of 2016.
A former manager of the resort is accused of sexually assaulting someone while they were incapacitated.
He was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct third degree.
The suspect had bonded out of prison.
Now that suspect, 34-year-old Daniel Carlson has been arrested again.
This arrest stems from the investigation into another sexual assault of an incapacitated victim accusation that happened at the resort in March on 2016.
He now faces charges of CSC first degree – sexual assault in the commission of a felony, delivery of a controlled substance, CSC third degree – sexual assault by force or coercion, CSC third degree – sexual assault of incapacitated victim, and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.
Carlson has posted the $125,000 bond and awaits trial on the felony charges from the October 2016 assault.
There will also be a preliminary hearing on the second felon charges for the March 2016 assault.
The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the cases, or any additional victims to contact the Detective Division.
