A man that was arrested after deputies say he strangled his wife has been charged.
At around 7:30 Thursday night, deputies were sent to Spectrum Health Ludington hospital after a woman reported an assault.
Once at the hospital, deputies spoke with the victim and learned that she allegedly received serious neck injuries.
Deputies subsequently went to the couple’s home on the 6500 block of Sassafrass Rd. in Hamlin Township.

The woman immediately left the home and took herself to the hospital.
She has since been transferred to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for her injuries.
29 year-old William Buchanan was arrested at the home.
He has now been charged with aggravated domestic violence in the second degree and assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
