Man Arrested for Exposing Himself, Threatening Hospital Staff
A man was arrested after reportedly exposing himself and threatening hospital staff with a knife.
It happened at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital on Saturday.
MSP Troopers were called there for the report of a disorderly man shortly before 5:30 in the evening.
The suspect, a 41-year-old man from the Reed City area, was suspected of being under the influence of meth at the time.
Troopers say he is a registered sex offender and exposed himself to hospital staff before pulling out an IV and medical equipment.
When the ER doctor came to talk to him, the suspect pulled out a pocket knife and threatened the doctor and two other staff members with it.
He then fled the hospital on foot, heading north away from the hospital.
Troopers attempted to stop him, but he continued running for a short time before officers were able to corner him.
He was then taken into custody without further incident.
Troopers recovered the weapon and the man was lodged in the Osceola County Jail for felony assault.
More charges are expected.
