Local Counties Awarded Grants to Rehabilitate Homes
The State Housing Development Authority is helping homeowners statewide cross important repair work off their to-do list this summer with more than $1.1 million in grants.
The HOME program helps build, buy, or rehabilitate affordable housing for rent or ownership.
In all, 10 Michigan communities will benefit from these grants with awards ranging from $66,000 to $176,000.
In our area, Leelanau County was awarded just over 103 thousand dollars to rehabilitate seven owner-occupied units.
In Wexford and Grand Traverse Counties, the Northwest Michigan CAA is planning four homeowner rehabilitation projects.
And in Otsego County, there are plans to complete three homeowner rehabilitation projects in Gaylord.
