Lansing Man Arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Assault in Benzie County

A Lansing man faces multiple charges after running towards a trooper with a machete.
Police say it all started when they were called to a crash between the suspect, Jordan Lee Cook, and a deer.
When they arrived at the scene a bystander told them Cook was walking around acting funny with something in his hand.
Moments later the suspect ran towards troopers with a machete.
Authorities immediately told him to drop it, and he did.
During the investigation, police tell us Cook seemed to be under the influence and that he stated he had been fighting zombies.
The suspect is currently in Benzie County Jail facing multiple charges.
His next court date is January 21.
