Hyundai Recalling Over 150,000 Sonatas Due To Risk of Airbags Not Deploying
Hyundai is recalling over 150,000 Sonatas because the airbags might not work in a crash.
The recall covers the 2011 Hyundai Sonata coupe.
Hyundai says that the air bag control unit, or ACU, could short circuit in a crash.
This could prevent the frontal air bags, seat belts, and side air bags from working properly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says a remedy is still under development.
The recall is expected to begin on April 20th.
Owners can call Hyundai Customer Service at 1-855-371-9460 referencing recall number 174 or the NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
