Harbor Freight Recalls More than a Million Chainsaws
More than a million chainsaws are being recalled after several people were injured by them.
Harbor Freight Tools is recalling the electric chainsaws because the unit may keep running, even after it’s switched off.
The 14″ saws were sold under three different brand names: Portland, One Stop Gardens, and Chicago Electric.
The Chicago Electric are red and black and say Chicago Electric on the handle.
Harbor Freight has received fifteen reports of the saws not stopping when turned off.
Three people have been injured, with one serious injury requiring stitches.
The saws were sold from May of 2009 until this past February at Harbor Freight stores across the country and online through their website.
Anyone who has the saw should stop using it and return the saw to Harbor Freight for a free replacement saw starting on May 21st.
All recalled chainsaws were sold with a black blade guard. The model number is printed on a label on the bottom of the chainsaw.
