Grayling Man Arrested For Accosting Boy on Social Media
A Grayling man was taken into custody after police say he accosted a boy.
The case began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided information to the state police.
The information reportedly suggested that a Grayling man had been accosting at least
one boy through social media.
The Traverse City Computer Crimes Unit compiled additional electronic information, which was then sent to the prosecutor.
Based on that evidence, 34-year-old William Bauer of Grayling was charged with accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer in a crime.
He was taken into custody on Thursday.
A search was also conducted and other potential evidence was found and seized from Bauer’s home.
He was lodged in the Crawford County Jail, but is currently out on a $50,000 bond
The investigation is on-going.
