Former Congressman John Dingell Dead at 92
Former representative John Dingell has passed away at the age of 92.
A statement from his wife, representative Debbie Dingell, said he passed away peacefully at his home in Dearborn.
He was the longest serving member of congress on record, serving from 1955 to 2015.
That amounts to 59 years and 22 days.
Dingell represented Southeast Michigan under eleven different presidents and cast more than 28,000 votes.
In more recent years, he became known for his witty Twitter account and criticism of the president.
