Family Rescued From Home After Fire in Traverse City
Monday night around 11:30pm, Traverse City Fire was dispatched to a working structure fire on the city’s eastside.
There were multiple calls, from neighbors to 911, reporting heavy flames coming from the home.
A family of five were still in the home when fire crews arrived.
Officials say the attached garage with 2 cars and other contents was engulfed in flames.
The fire had consumed some of the roof and was pushing into the attached ranch style home but was quickly fought with a quick exterior attack to prevent it from spreading.
According to the Traverse City Fire Department, an interior door that separated the living space from the garage did it’s job just long enough to save the lives of this family.
No injures were reported.
