Drunk Driver with Child in Car, Arrested after Crash in Alpena County
A man who had his 4-month-old son with him was arrested for drunk driving after a crash in Alpena County.
That accident happened at approximately 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon on Hinckley Blvd near Pine Street.
MSP Troopers responded and found a Chevrolet Traverse in the middle of the intersection and a Ford Ranger in the ditch.
They spoke with the drivers, who were both uninjured.
While talking with the driver of the Traverse troopers say they could smell alcohol.
The driver, a 34-year-old man from Alpena also had his infant son with him.
Troopers say the driver of the Traverse, who did not have a license, was at fault for the crash.
He was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated with a person under 16 in the vehicle, obstructing and lying to officers, and having a high BAC.
He also had two outstanding warrants out of Arenac County.
He was lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
