Crews Suspend Search for Teen That Fell Through Ice in Osceola County
The search for a teen that fell through the ice on the Muskegon River in Osceola County has been suspended.
At around 5:14 Thursday night, deputies responded to a possible drowning at the 50th Ave. Bridge, just south of River Rd. in Sylvan Township.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, three teens, ranging in age from 14 to 16 years-old, fell through the ice and into the river.
Two of the teens were able to make it back to the shore, but the third, now identified as 15 year-old Dylan Shaw of Evart, has yet to be found.
Crews from multiple agencies are used sonar in and around the area where the teen fell through.
Osceola County Sheriff Justin Halladay says that the varying thickness hampered efforts.
Conditions also forced crews to call off the search once before.
Officials report that they will continue their search when conditions permit.
