Copemish Man Charged With Drunk Driving, Resisting Police Following Crash
Police arrested Copemish man after he reportedly fought with troopers following a crash.
At around 8:30 Sunday night, troopers responded to County Line Road near Keewenaw Drive in Benzie County’s Weldon Township.
Troopers learned that Jesse Ketchum’s vehicle had left the roadway and became stuck in the ditch.
Troopers became suspicious that Ketchum had been driving his car while intoxicated, and conducted a roadside investigation.
He was then arrested after police determined that he was intoxicated.
But, once in the patrol car, Ketchum allegedly began to kick around, hitting the trooper’s equipment and cutting his head in the process.
Ketchum was brought under control and taken to the Benzie County Jail, where he had to be further restrained for a blood draw.
He was since been charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, and operating while intoxicated wit a high BAC.
