Consumers to Temporarily Shut Off Power on Old Mission Peninsula Saturday Morning
Consumers energy will be temporarily shutting off the power on Old Mission Peninsula in Grand Traverse County.
According to the company, the cut is to safely make electrical repairs and improve reliability.
Consumers estimates about 3,300 customers on Old Mission Peninsula will experience a 6-hour power interruption.
The outage is set to begin at approximately 12:05 Saturday morning.
Workers will be performing maintenance on an electrical substation that serves much of the peninsula.
Consumers has mailed all affected customers postcards with the outage information.
The original date was in mid-October but was rescheduled to accommodate fall harvest operations.
