Body of Missing Leelanau County Boater Found in Ingalls Bay
Police in Leelanau County say the search for a man that went missing while boating on Lake Michigan has ended.
At around six o’clock on Wednesday evening, a boat was found beached near a home off East Ingalls Bay Road in Northport.
According to investigators, the boat had no one in it and its owner, 57 year-old Terry Eugene Warren of Northport, was missing.
Earlier, at around four o’clock that afternoon, witnesses reported seeing Warren leave the marina in his boat.
But after a days-long search by multiple agencies, Warren was found dead in Ingalls Bay near Omena.
According to the state police, a resident noticed what looked like a body offshore and called it in.
Warren’s body was recovered in around five feet of water.
At this time, it is believed that Warren fell into the lake while on his boat.
His cause of death is currently unknown and an autopsy has been scheduled.
