Assisted Living Center in St Ignace Shut Down Over Health Concerns
An assisted living center in St. Ignace has been shut down by the state, displacing several patients.
On Monday, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs revoked the license of Cedar Ridge Assisted Living Center.
According to LARA, Cedar Ridge was found to have numerous health code violations.
Those included inadequate alarm precautions, lack of staff, staff not having the proper medication training, presetting medications, failing to produce incident reports in relation to over 20 911 calls, and not having the proper food to meet the needs of residents.
LARA says these violations were found during a lengthy investigation into Cedar Ridge after a routine review in September of 2017.
Cedar Ridge was ordered to discharge all remaining residents and contact their family or guardians.
The around 33 former residents are now being relocated with help from the MDHHS.
