Major storm takes out power to thousands UPDATED

Approximately 76,000 Consumers Energy electric customers are without service due to the winter storm that began on Friday afternoon. Since that time, more than 112,000 customers have been affected by weather related outages.

The approximate numbers of Consumers Energy electric customers remaining without service in the following counties are as follows:

Antrim (3,000);
Benzie (7,500);
Charlevoix (950);
Cheboygan (3,900);
Clare (650);
Crawford (2,500);
Eaton (225);
Genesee (1,570);
Grand Traverse (7,600);
Hillsdale (180);
Iosco (800);
Jackson (125);
Kalkaska (600);
Kent (220);
Lake (875);
Leelanau (9,400);
Livingston (440);
Manistee (5,200);
Missaukee (3,650);
Newaygo (1,650);
Oakland (385);
Ogemaw (2,700);
Osceola (1,200);
Oscoda (4,300);
Otsego (1,600);
Presque Isle (800);
Roscommon (4,800);

The majority of customers north of U.S. 10 are expected to be restored by midnight on Monday, however, some customers in Grand Traverse County may not receive service until mid-day Tuesday.

  2. According to a press release that arrived just a few minutes ago, approximately 3,000 Consumer’s Energy customers in Wexford County are still without power.

  3. Does anyone know where the power outages are in Iosco County?
