Old Town Playhouse presents On Golden Pond
The heartwarming play, On Golden Pond, is being presented by the Old Town Playhouse on January 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 at 8pm and January 22 at 3pm. Performances will be held at Old Town Playhouse.
Beginning their forty-eighth relaxing summer in Maine, Norman and Ethel Thayer, long married and devoted, find themselves facing imminent mortality and the struggles of aging. Summer begins in its usual fashion, with time spent on Parcheesi, berry-picking, and coping with the mosquitoes and moths that surround the lakeside cottage. But an unexpected visit from their daughter Chelsea, along with her boyfriend and his 13 year old son, brings old family tensions bubbling to the surface. Made famous by the award-winning film, starring Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda, Thompson’s tender story of the twilight years of life will warm hearts and explore the fragility of families and relationships.
