Person Of The Week: Floyd Kanipe
This week’s Person Of The Week is a man who’s been a volunteer all his life.
Floyd Kanipe just turned 85 Sunday, and despite that, he is more active than ever.
Whether it’s volunteering to counsel those with grief at the Cadillac Big Boy, or leading a bible study at the Curry House – he’s making life better for everyone around him.
Floyd has been a minister, teacher and school administrator.
He now spends time raising money for the Wexford County historical museum, after 26 project, and Love Inc. as well as sits on the Board of the Wexford County Council on Aging and CWTA Veteran Outreach committee.
Floyd has done a lot in his years, and does it because he enjoys seeing people happy.
For volunteering in his community, Floyd Kanipe is this week’s Person of the Week.
If you know of someone who’s working hard in their own community, creating something new in the area, or just affecting northern Michigan in their own special way and you’d like to nominate them — send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tell us who you’d like to nominate for the person of the week, why you think they should receive that title, and how we can reach them — Each week, we’ll broadcast one of these nominees as the “Person of the Week.”
